With mainstreaming, digitalization, and internationalization as core concepts for talent cultivation, our undergraduate programs aim to provide students with well-rounded development and broad basic knowledge of the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, as well as systematic theoretical knowledge and business skills related to journalism and communication. Graduates should be able to analyze issues related to journalism, including journalism theory, and communications. They should also be familiar with China's news and communications policies and regulations, as well as its media operation mechanisms and development trends, and have lofty professional ideals and strong professional ethics. To better serve a new era of integrated media, the program aims to develop innovative, and applied news communications professionals who can work effectively for media organizations, new media enterprises, advertising and public relations agencies, government agencies, social institutions, and at other jobs.


Courses fall into three categories: general education, professional training, and diversified development. The general education course covers 7 modules; Professional training courses are divided into basic courses and professional core courses. Major basic courses are mainly divided between humanities and social science. Professional core courses are mainly divided between basic and compulsory courses for journalism and communication majors. Diversified development courses mainly include advanced elective courses for this major, interdisciplinary minor courses, and courses on innovation and entrepreneurship.
